Well, I know both PHP and Ruby. PHP is a good tool. Tt does have drawbacks, but on the other hand, when talking about ruby… Its nothing more than a crazy religion for no good reason.

I love all open source stuff. Currently I work as a PHP developer. I have absolutely nothing against Ruby.

I do have a small digression on title “Ruby on Rails vs PHP”. RoR is a framework, PHP is a language. There is NO WAY these two can be compared.

Something like “Ruby on Rails vs Zend Framework” or “Ruby on Rails vs CodeIgniter Framework” would be more appropriate.

Oh I see, an ad that copies an Apple ad, about a framework that copies another framework…

We’re left with nothing but pat the authors on the back and hope RoR gets back some of its luster it lost during the last 1-2 years.

Take a look at the Andromeda Database “Framework” its developed in PHP.

Andromeda take a totally different approach than any other framework on the market right now. It put the business logic into the database itself.

We’re probably within weeks of our RC1 release, but over all the framework is stable.

I abandoned PHP a long time ago in favour of Rails. The Ruby philosophy in general is so awesome, and the people that embrace this philosophy within the Ruby/Rails community make it such a great place to work within.
